The First Photo Shoot

I'm going to start this off by saying generally speaking I don't like to have my picture taken. I know I need to sometimes and all that stuff, but like most people, I feel like I see the pictures and just become overly critical about them. So when it was time to do my first photo shoot for A Healthful Life, I did those little things that I knew would make me feel more confident. I got some new clothes, I paid to get my make up done and did my nails (which naturally led to Grace wanting her nails done).

So the photo shoot is in full swing, with costume changes and everything, as well as with a surprisingly shy kiddo. She normally loves pictures. I don't know what happened that day but she would NOT take a picture with me to save my life. Which is so atypical because documenting her outfit choices is pretty much a daily occurrence in my house, along with her saying "Strike a pose" (thanks Madonna) prior to the picture being taken.

I guess this was just not her day. She wasn't in the mood even though she also had multiple outfit changes (though I guess that's also pretty standard for us) and had fancy nails.

"Oh well, can't force it" I thought as things kept plugging along and we got a ton of shots. We finally moved inside, cleared away some furniture and I set my mat up to get some "action" shots and before I could even get ready, Grace sees my mat and demands we stop. All the momentum we were working off of completely disappears so Grace can "get her workout in" on my mat.

I couldn't stop laughing. I don't even remember what she did. It was just so funny to me that she not only recognized the mat as a piece of equipment to workout but also knew that it was important to stop everything to make sure you got your workout in.
